Jefferson County voters picked a new loved ones court docket choose, ousting a choose appointed by Gov. Andy Beshear before this calendar year, in accordance to votes tallied Tuesday night.
Lori Goodwin, 39, received more than 130,000 votes, or about 50 percent the votes counted. Her opponents, Daren C. Neel and Ellie Kerstetter, garnered about 20% and 26% of the vote, respectively.
Goodwin is a longtime Legal Aid Modern society attorney in the nonprofit’s spouse and children law division, and she serves on Jefferson County’s Fatality Evaluation Committee, which evaluations domestic-linked homicides. She unsuccessfully ran for a household courtroom seat in 2018.
